While the evaporator coil picks up heat from indoor air the condenser coil releases heat into outdoor air. Here it passes through a compressor which condenses the refrigerant into a hot gas. A fan blows air over this coil absorbing the heat from the refrigerant and cooling it. However the difference between a c evaporator and condenser coil is exactly reversed.

Inside this coil there is a hot gas vapour which is known as the refrigerant. Replace the entire unit. As refrigerant travels to your outdoor unit it fills the many condenser coils increasing its surface area so that heat escapes faster. A variety of things including debris impact and corrosion can damage a coil.

Because this is such an integral part of the overall component a damaged coil instantly compromises the entire ac unit. The condenser coil is of similar design to the indoor evaporator coil. For optimum efficiency you need everything to work properly and run the refrigerant and cool air through the system.
